01 – Manifesto
Today challenges
are no more linear.
MTCH27
Multidisciplinarity and creativity are needed more than ever, and the construction industry is no exception. We are talking about an industry responsible for around 10% of annual GHG emissions, addressing a massive housing crisis worldwide, and feeding the largest industry in human history: real estate.
Do we really need another housing competition? More than never, we need challengers, refreshers and defiers for the way we are building today.
Our goal? — To make a statement.
Mass Timber is the answer for a complex crisis.

Challenge 2025.

02 – Context
Problems are
multidimensional.
MTCH27
Main problems:
- Climate change
- Housing crisis
- Financing
Three crises cross five countries. Every answer has to work for construction, sustainability and finance at once — in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.
2027 — Problems are multidimensional
03 – Our Challenge
Our
Challenge.
MTCH27
The MTCH27 is a regional meeting of players questioning and delivering new views on how these problems can be solved. The final answers come from the incoming members: The challengers.
We seek multidisciplinary, responsive and grounded answers to the sustainability, construction and finance problems of our reality—problems that come from the way we build today.
The question to be solved
In a single proposal, how could Mass Timber provide a conclusive response to the current built-environment crisis?
