Xinú Marsella: Where Perfumery Meets Sensory Architecture
In the heart of Colonia Juárez, Mexico City, lies a space that redefines the perfume shopping experience.
Xinú Marsella is not just a perfumery boutique; it is an architectural work that demonstrates how design can completely transform the way we perceive and experience a product.
A Pavilion that Challenges Conventional Limits
Designed by the renowned Esrawe Studio, this project represents a masterful fusion between architecture, nature, and brand experience. The most distinctive element of the space is its radial timber pavilion, a structure that not only functions as a product container, but seamlessly integrates into a sensory garden designed to awaken all the senses.
The proposal goes beyond aesthetics: it seeks to create an immersive experience where each architectural element contributes to the brand's olfactory narrative. The use of timber as the primary material is no coincidence; its natural warmth perfectly complements the sensory experience lived while exploring the different fragrances.
International Recognition and Outstanding Awards
The project's excellence has been recognized by prestigious publications specialized in design and architecture. In 2024, Xinú Marsella received the "Winner of Best Retail Design 2024" award from Architectural Digest México, within their Design Icons program. This prize specifically recognizes conceptual innovation and construction quality in retail spaces.
However, this is not the only recognition that Esrawe Studio's work has received. In 2018, the prestigious Wallpaper Design Awards granted them first place in the "Best Sensory Overload" category, highlighting precisely their unique capacity to generate multisensory experiences that go beyond the visual.
The WIN Awards 2017 also recognized the studio's excellence, granting them two significant prizes: "Retail Interiors Under 200 m²" and "Interior Practice of the Year", consolidating their reputation as one of the most important references in commercial space design.
Héctor Esrawe's Vision
Behind this innovative proposal is Héctor Esrawe, founder and creative director of Esrawe Studio. His vision and creative leadership have been recently recognized with his inclusion in the AD100 2025 list by Architectural Digest México & Latinoamérica, a distinction that brings together the 100 most influential designers and architects in the region.
This inclusion is not only a personal recognition, but a validation of the unique approach that Esrawe has developed to create spaces that transcend their basic function and become memorable experiences.
Collaboration and Technical Expertise
Realizing a project of this magnitude requires specialized collaborators who can materialize the creative vision with the highest technical quality. In the case of Xinú Marsella's timber pavilion, MICMAC collaborated as a supplier of the structural timber, contributing their expertise in natural materials to achieve the constructive precision that the design demanded.
A New Paradigm in Luxury Retail
Xinú Marsella represents more than a perfumery boutique; it is an example of how architectural design can elevate the shopping experience to a completely new level. In a world where customer experience has become as important as the product itself, spaces like this set the standard for the future of luxury retail.
The project demonstrates that when architecture, interior design, and brand experience work in perfect harmony, the result transcends the commercial to become something truly memorable and transformative.
